Say
No to Dieting or Depriving
Usually, losing weight is synonymous with dieting whereas it means following a combination of proper exercise regime and well-balanced diet. Cutting food intake or living on water or fruit diet can be dangerous for your health. Do not deprive yourself of healthy food by eating foods, which are too low on calories and short on nutrients essential for proper functioning of the body. An average individual needs at least 1200 calories to carry out his/her daily activities. By consuming calories lesser than 1200, you may start feeling tired or fatigued in the middle of the day. Eat a good amount of fruits and vegetables and replace junk food with healthy food options such as yoghurt smoothie, sprouts or Greek salad. These will not only help you to lose weight but also increase your metabolism rate.
Less
of Cheese
It is a myth that only non-vegetarian items have cheese in them. Vegetarian items such as sandwiches do have cheese. Cheese is a good form of vegetarian protein, but keeping a watch on cheese content will prevent you from consuming extra calories. Standard vegetarian dishes such as broiled asparagus, corn bread, pizza and spinach lasagna offered by various restaurants have high cheese and cream content. Therefore, consider consuming soup or salad instead. Using low fat cheese on pasta or homemade pizza is also a good option. Use tofu pesto rather than cheese in your sandwiches.
Watch
your Sugar Intake
For weight loss, one needs to keep a vigilant eye on his/her intake of sugar content. Liquid calories such as fruit juices, mock tails etc that one consumes without much consideration are the biggest threat to weight-conscious people or people, who want to lose. Excess consumption of sugar not only causes obesity, but also puts you at a risk of several severe diseases such as diabetes, heart attack etc. Control the intake of food items that are high in sugar content or take substitutes of sugar such as sugar-free powder.
Fiber-rich
Foods
Consuming food items with good amount of dietary fiber is also a good way of shedding off extra pounds. Foods rich in dietary fiber give you a full and satisfied feeling, cut your hunger pangs thereby, making you consume less. Fiber-rich foods for vegetarians include nuts, beans, whole grain bread, whole grain cereal, potatoes and fruits and vegetables.
